I just bought a 1998 Ford Contour w/ the 2.5 DOHC, for my preggo girlfriend
and on our way home it started to over heat, And the temp gauge was stuck way past hot. The guys said it sat for a while. so I figured the thermostat was stuck. Went to replace it and there wasnt one in the housing.
So I put the new one in and replaced the broken coolant temp sensor.
The gauge works now but the car heats up really quick. Then stays in the
normal area until you increase the rpm's a little bit. Then the gauge
starts to rise to hot. Theres no oil in the coolant, no coolant in the oil,
and it doesnt smoke. So theres no signs of a BHG.
Do any one know why it would constantly over heat
