so i hooked up my hid kit wrong and i blew the fuse for the fogs.. so i figured no big deal, ill put in a new fuse. i did this and they still wont turn on. any ideas? i do not have anything hooked into the high beams pin on my headlights if it matters

is there anyway to keep the fog lights how they are without the rewire? i personally like how they were setup before.. come on with my headlights. i dont need/want them on all the time
after looking at the wiring diagram from what it looks like, i can have the fogs working like default if i give one of the red wires at the switch 12v.
The rewire dosen't keep your lights on all the time. You can turn them on with OR WITHOUT the headlights.
^ i want them to turn on automatically with my headlights, like how it is stock.

2. Find the fog light switch, cut the red/black wire (pin 4) and connect it to a switched +12VDC power source.

Not sure how you have it wired, but it if all else fails, wire it in using the trigger feed (switched output) from the headlights to power relays to run your lights.
That makes it cake to put the two together and you shouldn't blow any fuses powering the relays if you keep it simple.

ok i just did the rewire and i was driving around fine but when i got home i noticed that the fuse just blew for the fog lights.
i have the pre 89 so i followed this:

instead of grounding the white/green at the relay i gave it 12v from the parking lights. and then i grounded the red/black wire from the switch (i cut it so it wasnt connected to anything but the ground) from what i saw these two wires control the coil on the relay and nothing else.. so why is my fuse blowing for the fogs? i was driving around all night with fogs up till i got home

i had the exact same problem when i did my hids. they worked for a day or two after i did the rewire (exactly how you did it), then the fuse kept blowing. been looking for a solution for months but cant figure it out.

i figured it out! it was my pass side bulb.. i think the postive came loose and shorted against the ground... that was a long painful process to find lol
Good for you bro. But personally I love the fogs only look. I'll especially love it when I get HID's for them too.
Oh I did I am just checking on how you are liking them after a few days. How do they handle the vibrations in those crappy Joisey roads ( born and raised in philly). I am planning on doing this I want to see how they last. Next test will be weather because I live in the rainy Pac NW
they seem like stock headlights lol.. i didnt touch the mounting brackets. newer cars definetly have the edge in lighting, but this setup is way way way better than the ecodes i have seen. it does kind of suck that i lost my high beams, but i never really used them to begin with
HID headlights will handle vibration FAR better than halogens - there's no filament to break, thus, more durability.
Weather doesn't seem to affect them either... I use HIDs for night riding on my mountain bike as well, in rain, snow, everything. They are a pain in the ass during snow at night, simply because they illuminate the snow so brightly that you can't see very far. Same problem with fog.

Thanks Grim you are not to far north from me so you know what I am talking about. I am going to use the projectors from the fx35 and a small piaa driving lamp as well. I have a spare set of headlights and crappy apc headlights so I am going to make a front end on my work bench so I can experment .
