Dude those wheels look fantastic on that car :D

Hope you don't mind me asking a couple of questions before I go out and buy some lol, I have a standard ride height JZA70 would I have any trouble with these wheels rubbing? also what tyres do you recommend? my car is currently running its stock 225/50/16 front+rear tyres however I believe I am correct in saying that depending on wither or not it had the sports suspension package a Starion would have either 205/55/16 front + 225/50/16 rear or 225/50/16 front and 245/45/16 rear. Should I just stick with the factory Supra tyre sizes or go for one of the Starions sizes? Im thinking the second Starion option would be the best idea as it retains the Supra front tyre size but adds wider rears?

Thank you, oh and nice car again :)

@ubersonic well i love the starion wheels... makes the car look way better than those stock wheels, and if your riding on standard hight u will be fine, i dont think u will rub at all, im using 205/55/16 front and 225/50/16 on rear, and my car is drop a bit and it did rub in the back fender thats it, and overall the car rides smooth and grips great when i race. so ill go for the starion wheels, im not sure how big rtrdpenguin's tires are on his... i wonder if i can put a bit bigger tire on my stance.

I'll be the first to say that the MKIII is a big heavy car, and does not rotate as well as some of the smaller RWD cars. The balance is far from perfect, and there are many other more "disposable" platforms out there to work with. (if you're learning to drift, you're likely gonna beat up the car a bit)

Question: I posted this in the Wheel/Tire thread but since several of you are running the same config I figured I'd ask here as well.

I'm running 225/50r16 Sumitomo's on 16x7 (front) and 16x8 (rear) and am getting rubbing in the rear on road bumps, on a dig, and in corners. I'm using the Eibach Pro/Tokico Illumina II's setup for ride height, and would like to know what people are doing to stop the rub. Here are some pics of my stance.

That's true, but the combination of 16x8 wheels PLUS the skinnier fenders found on 86~88 Supras (89+ are much wider...) adds to the dilemma.

I have 215/45 r16 tires coming that will hopefully correct the problem. If not then I'll be in the market for 2 16x7 wheels to trade for my 8's.

I'm curious about the differences in fenders. Anyone have a picture comparing the two? Or a thread for reference?
