i forget where exactly i heard it but is it true that the flywheel bolts are torqued to yield as well and MUST be replaced with new ones when removed? i only ask because im debating on putting a fidenza lightened flywheel on my car and didnt want to end up stranded. any input on the pros/cons/comments of a lightened flywheel will also be appreciated. thanks :icon_bigg

Lightened is good for race car. Not so much for street car. They make easier to rev up and down. Stall easier at stop from high rev. Sucks at drag racing because you loose the torque inertia.

I've never had an issue with them on my dd's all of my cars I've had a lightweight flywheel. It's quick revving and reduces rotating mass. All the flywheels job is is to keep engine rotation during between power impulses, as long as you don't go too light you should be fine. The best thing to do though when going lightweight since it will effect the balance of the rotating assembly is to get a fluid damper to help compensate for any vibration changes.

No, they're not torque to yeild.

Yes you can reuse them, but it's best to get new ones.

Use loctite (I use red and if they have to come out, an impact makes short work of em).

Lightweight flywheels aren't really worth their cost IMHO. Too many people get the clutch disk welded to them when drag racing, and being a race item is supposed to be inspected from time to time. Harsh clutch + stock flywheel = easy to drive.

6 puck with light flywheel makes for interesting starts and reverse maneuvers. Ill be putting my stock one back in when/if i pull the motor for a rebuild.

I've had my Fidanza for years. It's been a great flywheel so far. The only problem that I had was with the clutch disk's material. I had a RPS MAX Clutch with a 6 puck and that set up wasn't that bad and I never welded the clutch. It's when I went to a feramic disk that messed up. Now I have a 8 puck solid ceramic disk and it works great now with my fidanza. I wouldn't trade it for the world!!

Or, just go anywhere that you can get a 4A-GE kit from. Exact same bolts, but you get 8 instead of 6. (In fact,t he Driftmotion kit is the 4A kit with 2 bolts cut off, or maybe 3 sets of the 2 bolts cut off LOL!) I bought the DM kit, but it was almost exactly the same price after shipping as buying a 4A kit locally.
