I have a 7M-GE and will be swapping out my A340 with a R154. Do I need the turbo flywheel for this swap to work or can I use my GE flywheel?

If not, could I use a 2JZ flywheel? (I realize that the 7M uses 6 bolts and the 2J uses 8.)

I've looked around online for information on this but have not come up with anything useful.

Thanks for your help

Unless you have a GE flywheel laying around that you did not mention... you don't have a flywheel at all in an auto. You have a flexplate. So you need to pick up a flywheel no matter what, and yes, as mentioned, you need a r-154 flywheel.

I have a similar question: I'm swapping in a w58, but I have a GTE Flywheel and Clutch.
Will I need to switch to a 154 to make the clutch/flywheel work?
If so, why?

You have the flywheel that the OP needs. You can't use it as the N/A and turbo use different style clutches.
