i am having a problem with my fLex a lite dual fans(410) i have them being turned on by my cpu through a relay .The relay supplys the fans with power now my problem is i put a fuse on the power wire coming from the battery to the relay and that fuse keep blowing i changed the relay,the relay holder,the wire from the battery to relay and the fuse holder and even the fans at one point what am i missing?

I don't see how these 2 fans can draw enough current to blow a 70 amp fuse.....

I say you have faulty fans.
When I wired my FAL fans I used the stock fan relays & wiring. They're just sitting there not being used (I assume unless you took it out), why not utilize them.

Used bosch relay to turn on lights.... Just to give you an idea.
Here you got the 5 point relay.
30: Connect to battery
85: Ground
86: To ECU
87: To the fans...
You dont have to use the one in the middle.
Or it can be used to show when the fans are OFF.
Connect the one in the middle to a "light".
Light should be ON when the fans are OFF.
If you got this correct you should have no problems.
I think maybe you grounded to one in the middle or connected it to something else
...

I am pretty sure those fans can only draw 10 amps so you must have a short circuit or faulty fans. No other explanation.
What size wiring? I would be using atleast 10gauge, preferably 8 from the battery to the relays. Then 12-10ga to the fans. Too small a wire will cause the circuit to draw more amperage, and pop a fuse, not to mention heat the wire up and possibly start a fire.
Done this on a small Honda, I'm close to an expert about electric motors.
Sounds like your problem is with the fan start-up. Some 14" cooling fans can peak at 90A on start-up. To really fix this right, you should use a time delay fuse but you could just get very heavy wire and a big fuse. I would wire them separately, this will lessn the load on any one wire/fuse and in the same time add redundancy.
I hate to say it because of controversy, but unless you have a very specific reason for haveing electric cooling fans there not and up grade from the clutch fan.

Never had any problems like this with the 2 fans on one relay. The relay is 60A...

thats how mine is wired except where the switch is my cpu triggers the relay

imma keep an eye on this thread... I have to test my setup still but i have the 420 FAL fans and the FAL controler for em. I setup the FAL controler to switch power to a relay that'll be switching the fans on. Do the fan motors really need a fuse? I was under the understanding that electric motors only use what they need to run.
