I am really digging the new FJ Cruiser and seriously concideringing trading in my 03 S/C Xterra..

if i do buy one, i would like to buy one used with extremely low miles so I dont end up taking the hit of loosing alot of money buying a brand new one.
plus , the dealer told me that the 06's are the first yr out, an i realyy dont wanna buy the first yr .......

what all do you guys think ?

2007 is the first year.

The engine/drivetrain is basically entirely out of a Tacoma, so I wouldn't really consider it a first-year vehicle.

They're pretty good vehicles, but I really don't care for the way they look. I wish we still had the Land Cruiser 70 series like other countries do.

BJ42 FTW.

I say get one, wait a little if you don't want the first year but still get one. They had one at the International Motorcycle show in Washington and it was awesome.

My neighbour has 2 of the older Land Cruisers, an 83 BJ42 and an 85 BJ70, they're both cool, but his BJ42 is the best thing evar. I love the 40-series. Here's a couple pics of ones almost exactly like the 2 he has.

The new FJ is really cool, but I don't think they paid homage well enough to the older ones ;). Especially since they still make the 70-series in other countries.

I wanted to pick up on of the FJ Cruisers so bad, but then realized I wouldn't be able to make the payments on one :( I still want one but oh well, maybe someday.

I've owned a fj100 for the last 3 years or so. Absolutley one of the best vehicles I've ever been in. AWD, V8, leather, all power, climate control, heated seats, everything. Comfortable, easy to drive. Everything that a big luxury SUV should be. I've done nothing but change oil on this thing.

If you're after a big suv, I'd seriously look into one of these. These things will last 200k miles with routine maintenace.

fj's are cool as I looked at one before I bought my X-runner. They have the same 4.0 V6 as the Tacomas but they love to suck up the gas for being relatively small too. Either way if I didnt need a truck to haul my rm250 to the desert I would have bought one.
