I've been trying to get all the leaks fixed on my 88 Supra. Recently fixed Cam Seal oil leak. Looks like the O-Ring has fixed the CPS Oil Leak. Today I was able to fix my exhaust leak. All 3 bolts on the turbo elbow were loose and a bitch to tighten. One of the nuts was fused to the stud and I could not tighten it. Had to take it off with the stud and add a couple washers and its tight now. Also one of the 4 nuts from the Turbo to manifold was loose and I was able to tighten it down.

Then I cleaned up all the oil down there and started her up. Sounds so much better without and exhaust leak. But I noticed a new oil leak. :3d_frown:

Looks like the turbo oil lines are leaking. I tried to tighten them down but they are almost impossible to get to and they seemed pretty tight when I was able to get a ratchet on them.

I'm pretty sure that its coming from the oil lines, but is there anything else around the area that it could be?

The bottom of my 88 was an oily mess when I bought it. I was shocked to find nearly all the oil pan bolts very loose. check em.

First thing I checked was loose oil pan bolts. They were all snug. My Z had that same problem!

I've replaced the valve cover gaskets and hardware. Fixed that oil leak a while back! I'm pretty sure its the turbo lines. Its leaking down the lines and then onto the oil filter and then to the motor mount area.

And I don't see oil coming from the front of the engine anymore and nothing from under the CPS. Its starting at the turbo.

I'm hoping I can fix it with the turbo on the motor. I might have to take off the oil filter to get more arm room. When these lines leak, what usually the cause? Bad gasket, loose nuts, broken lines?

if you get under the car with a swivel and extensions its not that hard to get to the turbo oil lines.

I was able to get to the firewall side pretty easy. The one closer to the block was a little tough because the oil line gets in the way. And I couldn't find my swivel. But is it something that just needs to be tightened down or is it something that needs to be replaced?

The turbo oil feed line uses a banjo bolt with two crush washers, while the oil drain back line uses a gasket. If the leak is coming from the turbo lines, the turbo will have to be removed so the crush washers and gasket can be properly replaced. I suppose you could try tightening the hardware, but if it were me, I definitely wouldn’t chance it. Given how easy it is to pull the turbo and do things right, there’s certainly no sense in risking it.

Hope this helps...
