I got her started with an old alternator I cleaned up and she started right up.

Birdcage light on regardless of resuvoir filled to full and radiator full + cooling system burped.

Been through about 4-5 full operating temp cycles since engine together, will re torque arp studs before next start.

Hooked up timing light + jumped diag and cannot advance timing past 5 in the direction toward 10 and 15 with cps pushed as far down as it will.

Sounded great idling strong still... so I took her for a drive around the block.

Immediately I noticed what sounded like uneven rotors hitting break pads from the wheels and increasing with speed ceasing when stopped. From all 4...

Noticed speedo was working, it never had before, I had replaced the lower section of the cable.

And then it wasn't anymore the next time I had checked...

I pressed on shifting gears smoothly(5spd). Oil pressure seemed alright, was about 22 iirc in first gear rolling with no throttle. Gave it gas in first and she took off like I've never felt. Definitely stronger than before...

I got her to the garage and revved. It sounded like crap all of sudden... that's an exaggeration but it didn't sound right..... I noticed my negative battery terminal had popped off.

Birdcage still on.

I turned her off and go to start her again.... just cranks won't start.

History:
She's been in the garage since 9/5/09 (basically 3 months) mostly on jack stands.

Since then I've replaced oil squirters, new relief springs, shimmed oil relief springs by 5mm, new water pump, new clutch master cyl, all new hoses, new crank pully, new timing belt and timing pulley spring, new cps, new 180deg thermostat, new bkr7e's, permacool ps cooler. Engine was apart cleaned head/block up, viton off mhg +copper spray. Converted us throttle body linkage to jdm, r134A converted A/C condenser + new drier, relocated CC, all new grounds w/thicker gauge.

Point is engine was apart and though I don't believe I missed anything or made any mistakes the possibility is always there.

Give the Front Reservoir a Bang. or unplug the stupid thing.

Reset the CPS. Report back.

Banged resuvoir light still on.

Did not adjust cps but did a long drawn out 15 second crank and it started slowly... then stabilized.

No codes.

Going to take her out for test drive #2 and see if anything had changed.

for the overflow coolent ,you have to take it out, use a long stick and move back the sensor back up. you will see it when you flash a light (with there with no fluid it there)

reset cps before second test drive. if you cannot set the timing correctly you are gonna have issues. And if you cannot rotate cps to correct location it is not installed properly. Better to do this first instead of having major issues later.

As far as your rotors, if they are uneven or out of round(warped) you will have brake pulse when stopping. My guess is that from sitting you collected some debris or surface rust.

All I wanted was a quick supra.

8 months of sacrificed weekends and 5 grand later this is where I am..

I plastigaged the motherfuckers, they were in spec.

This is bullshit.

pull and replace one injector plug at a time to isolate which cylinder has the little man above.

Man I wish i could say I told you so IJ just to sound cool but even I convinced myself it wasn't present after plastigaging. I would bet money against myself that I read the little label wrong on the wax paper.

This is going to be SO MUCH FUN!!!!!

Is there a trophy for how many times one pulled their engine in a year?

No matter what sequence or how I do things it's always 3rd times a charm.
