First Redlobster and Then a Prob

I went out to eat with some friends and ate laveshly at redlobster. On my way home full of wonderful seafood i run across a ford probe. Now the race.

Im downshift to second to ease through the light and i take off while still rolling and the probe must have felt the need to flex his muscles. He was a complete standstill and hammered it by me after i was out front about a car and a half.I said to myself "there ya go". Well luck being on his side the next light caught us both. I try to play it off by keeping my car slight ahead of his at the light. The light turns green and i ease off get up to 4 grand and floor it. The probe follows suite, he catches up to me in second and i get nervous. Were side by side and i shift to 3rd, and damn it this cock sucker pulls about a fender on. So i slam her down in fourth, and immediatly i started to pull and regain my lead. I max 4th out and he's now at my rear bumper. I shut it down, i dont know how fast i was going but it was enough to hold off the probe. They did one of those flybys and i gave them the thumbs up for giving me a good race.

Supra gets the hit and holds the probe off.

Supra owner once again regains faith in his n\a

It feels so good

On a side note i hit a bump so fast i caught air

I wouldn't have thought the probe could hang with you that long, but I don't know much about NA supras and even less about probes. Good kill though, now get the turbo installed and laugh at the probe.

The probe coulda been turbo , it pulled hard. This will be propobly my last kill before i add boost

the probe could have been a gt? V6 2.5l if it was. Mazda engine, and quick at that. Otherwise its a 2.3l i believe...could be wrong.

I remember I ran a probe gt with my accord just to see what it had. damn thing was quick. usually my accord mops up any pos like that. but damn those gt probes have a little kick. hehehe too bad I didn't have my supra with me.

Alright did some googling, and it was a First Gen probe(89-92). The engine options listed are :
2.2L 110 hp I4(sohc n/a)
2.2L 145 hp I4(turbo)
3.0L 145 hp V6

Sucker was quick out of the whole, but fell on its face up top. Im curious to know if it was the 4 or 6 cylinder

well i guess the klze (2.5l v6) is in the 2nd gen gt then. And the 2.3s they put in did come from the svo mustang (2.3l turbo) or the na (lx mustang). interesting fact is they still use those engines in the mazda 3s and 6s. They also race them at the track my step dad has run against them in the pro 4 circle track class. They also use those 3l v6s in the new mazda 6s.

my guess would be you ran a v6, hard to believe it was a turbo as i havent even seen one before.

it would have lost no matter what

93 - 97 (2nd Gen)

most powerful one would be KL03 (GT Model)

2.5L V6. 165 HP

if JDM engine (KLZE)

2.5L V6 200 HP

1st gen... they have a 3.0L Vulcan motor with 145 HP...

if it was the i4 Turbo you would have had the same HP numbers...

not a car to brag about beating...

Sorry, they run 15.7 Stock or something like that... and mine would never break 16's (and I can drive my max rather well so not really driver error imo)

2nd gen probe gts are pretty quick, all the 1st gens are slowww.

Not to throw arguments, I guess just to educate... the GTS and the GT had no difference in performance what so ever. It was basically racing stripes you got on the GTS along with chrome rims... and it only came out in 97

I'm thinking the Turbo Probe uses the IHI-RHB31 turbocharger, if not that one, then the next up, I think it's the IHI-RHB51...??
