First exhaust wrap job

So today I did my first exhaust wrap job and I did it on my new BIC DDP. The whole time I was worrying if I was doing a good enough job and before I sprayed it with hi temp silicone tomorrow I wanted to know what others thought.. The string is only holding it in place until morning because I ran out of straps to secure the wraps.

What do you think? Good enough to be sprayed or do i need to over wrap any areas?

looks good to me. though i wrap flex pipe and all when i do mine.

I heard when you cure the hi temp silicone spray it turn the wrap into a ..."brick" whatever that means, I took it as it hardens it up, and I didn't want the flex to stiffen so my plans were to source a fire blanket for it.

No need to put anything over wrap. I've had wrap on motorcycles exposed to the elements for years and haven't had a single bad thing happen.

Yeah.. I've done some research and it doesn't seem to be necessary, I think I will though just for those rainy days to prevent too much moisture from getting in.

Fair enough. I will tell you though that my motorcycles will evaporate the moisture out of the wrap (when exhaust is at operating temperature) in 30 seconds or less. basically idle down time.

What do you mean? There are uses for header wrap apart from turbocharged engines. Ever considered where all the heat from the headers goes on a fully faired motorcycle, and what bonuses there could be from preventing that heat radiating?

I think he's asking if it evaporates so quickly because of the extra heat turbocharged engines experience. I would think regardless of what engine, the heat that any exhaust experiences would evaporate water fairly quickly that the wrap takes on. Also I would spray it regardless, it's like if your going to use arp hardware you might as well use their moly lube, if you're removing a bolt or union that has crush washers might as well replace or quench and temper them. Just my 2 cents.
