sup guys.. i hope i dont annoy thwe shit out of you with this post, but i have some tiny questions..

Im doing my topend rebuild within the month and am wondering a few things.. Now, most of u guys are rebuilding for a high horsepower beast and machines the block, head, new pistons, all the goodies. I just want a reasonable horsepowered dailydriver for summer.
so far, im planning on purchasing a gasket set, metal headgasket, arp head bolts, machining head, rear main seal, front main seal (my rear main is leaking so why the hell not replace both)

What other goodies should I replace while im up to my elbows in grease?

Might was well put new rob and main bearings in it, timing belt, timing tensioner. if you are going MHG you will need to get the block machined as well. Replace all gaskets and seals, not just the main seals. I would go ARP Studs not bolts...only a few bucks more but I think worth it. You could even go with a stock HG and save a few bucks as long as you keep the boost down.

This is basically what I did to mine a few months ago. good luck

i heard machining to the block was optional - meaning, i CAN do it if i want, but im taking a light risk if i dont. I believe ive read few others posts where peeps only got the head machined. The only reason why Im not getting the block machined is no engine lift and no cash to tow car to machinist.

thanks guys for ur input.
would a build that includes MHG, stud/head bolts, new seals/gaskets etc, AFM, 550cc's, be able to push 15 lbs of boost?

Like i said earlier, Id like a decently powered DD. Id most definatly have a boost controler and id like to be able to bring her up to about 15 PSI on high boost just incase i really wanna blow the doors off something. lol.

I might have to just fork the cash over and get it done.

They can machine the block while its in the car right?
How long does it usually take to machine head/block?
Any special way to install MHG? or is it just place MHG on freahly machined block and slap the head on her?

does 12 lbs of boost sound more reasonable? im asking because i know stock feul cut is 12 psi. And about this gasket? is it called a comosite? cometic? lol ive got like 400 different versions of this word.
