Just an update, the guys at the shop where they machined the block had misplaced my main bearing caps, so they had to modify some that came off of a 22RE engine. So that took a while, and now my car was supposed to have been ready last night, but my mechanic had an accident and is in the hospital, so it will be at least another week before it will be ready. Will keep you guys posted.
ARP's are supposed to be torqued to 85 ft-lbs according to them. I have heard people torquing them up to 110 but I wouldn't go that far. I did mine at 85 with a HKS MHG 1.2mm.
hey guys, finally supra is back on the road. Not finished yet, but it was able to drive, so I told the wreckanic that I was taking the car home. I'd finish it somehwere else. Intermittant power, no power on some rpm ranges, less than 12 mpg, ABS and TEMS stopped working after a day.
I think it was the first time he worked on a 7M engine. (There are only two other mk3 supras in the country) I have a friend that just came in from canada, who is a certified mechanic in canada and has worked on 7mgte engines already, i'll have him help me out with this one.. Ok, this is the code that i'm getting: Code 52 (1st knock sensor) I talked to the guy and he said he never found the plug-in to plug in the sensor. (and he calls himself a mechanic?) Can anyone help me with this one? It might just be a matter of plugging in the knock sensor.
Don't know about the head bolts, but the nuts/studs are torqued to 81 ft/lbs w/ moly lube or 105 ft/lbs w/ 30wt motor oil. Got the ARP spec sheet right here :biglaugh:
