Well if you no longer like volvo then... I guess you should buy a SAAB...

this has cost me about 2k in lost income for the week so far....

What's your normal weekly income if you don't mind me asking?

depends on the week

solo, about 1500

with a 3 week trainee, about 3100, during summer with no truck or freight issues

i get paid all the miles a truck rolls, we run as a team after the trainees 2nd week, on a 6 week program, the trainee is put on salary, 350 first 2 weeks, 400 second 2 weeks and 500 last 2, and they get a 500 bonus first completed load after they upggrade to solo.

plus i get a penny pr mile that the trainee runs for their first year on their own truck

SAAB-Scania

Though, I had forgotten that they split when GM took over... But I guess if you get a 95 or before it could be.

Not sure the Freightliners we used at Nestle were any better. :)

IIRC, the brakes are pressure to use them on the truck/tractor, and pressure off to apply them on the trailer.

That way, if the trailer comes undone, it locks up the brakes and is designed to stop. (Of course, it means if you lose your air pressure on the tractor, you have no brakes...)

but if the park brake spring hits then the hub, rotor, rim, tire, bearings and everything I can't think of is toast. thats always a fun repair.......
