They gonna make you dyno your car to prove it?

No, they just look at which engine you have.

If it's a 7MGTE then they assume it has 235 hp

If it's a 2JZGTE they assume it has 330 hp

and so on.

But you can't swap in a 2JZGTE because it excedes the 20% limite. Even if I swapped out the turbos for a CT26 and detuned it they will still claim its a 330 hp engine.

For the moment I will use the Eaton M90 off of a L67 second gen 3800 GM engine. The M90 should give me around 350HP and 350TQ at the wheels at 8 PSI. The stock ECU and injectors can handle that. That should put ma at about a 12 second 1/4 mile. Once i get some more money i would like to upgrade to mega squirt, cams, valve springs and a Wipple twin screw supercharger like this one.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Whip...ryZ33741QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

that should be good for more power than the car could put to the ground.

I figured It was about time I posted the spring upgrades to the supra. I have the new intake manifold finished and installed and the whipple looks sweet (to bad the pulley wont clear the hood). I will be starting off with some where between 8 and 14 PSI depending on what pulley i put on. I have bought a megasquirt 2 V3.57 with extra coil drivers and map daddy and Innovative LC-1 wideband O2 to take over for the stock ecu. So i get semi sequential injection and wasted spark COP.
The 1uz managed to eat both my oem LSD and XTD clutch over last summer so I picked up a spec stage 3 clutch and am eyeballing a new KAAZ LSD. The original radiator from October of 1986 has finally started to show signs of leakage at the seems and so a new FF dynamics radiator will be taking its place.

will be installing the megasquirt this week and hope to have it running on some base maps very soon. I will be tring to lose the twin dissy setup and will be using the stock 12 tooth crank trigger and 1 of the stock cam triggers swaped out for a hall sender for timing. I have a basic understanding and my buddy who is helping with the install has done about 5 MS2 installs but this is his first 1UZ.

I also picked up a new lip and whale tail wing from shine auto and have finished my new sleepy eye projector headlight setup, Light setup is done proper with modified light motor linkage and triple HELLA mini projectors on each side. Untill i get the money for a bi xenon setup i am running a voltage regulator on the low beam circut to drop the voltage to about 9v.

That 20% limit really sucks. Personally, I would just stay with the 7M. Since we're talking about swaps here, ever thought about just slapping a 7M logo over/on the 2j logo? Haha. It's an idea, unless they know what they're looking at. :dunno:

I'm sorry, but Denmark needs to go to hell based on this alone.
Hopefully, the car guys are creative enough to get around this crap. 2JZ-GTE with GE timing cover? Remote mount turbo?
Reminds me of racers trying to "cheat".

Denmark: Where every car is a sleeper.

Redrocco, what are you plans for the hood? I'm in a similar spot. I have timing gears about where your s/c snout is.

I am sending the car out for paint and body work in about 3 weeks. One of the things getting done is a 2 1/2 inch cowl molded to the hood. Till then I will be rocking a home brew sheet metal scoop and some pop rivets sprayed black on my spare damaged hood in a mad max kinda way.

Nice swap, done very well! I have a few questions for you if you dont mind, How are you controlling the fuel pump? And are you running AC and power steering?

The Supercharger looks like it belongs there! Cant wait to hear it!

Fuel pump Is still using the pump relay in the supra triggered off the ignition. When the cars on so is the pump. The AC was long gone by the time I got the car. I live in upstate ny so there are only like 5 or 10 days a year that I would even use AC so no big loss. For power steering I am using the supra rack with the Lexus pump. the low pressure lines are all stock supra or lexus, what ever would fit. At first the stock supra lines were used for the high pressure but they all blew and or leaked by the end of the first week. Had my local hydraulic shop make me 2 replacements for like $100.

New pic, getting close to running BOOST!

I just happened to notice i never got around to updating this thread after I got her running again. I got the Whipple installed, finished the mega squirt and coil on plug conversion. Car was dyno tuned on 5 psi of boost and put out 260WHP, 270TQ (new 30mm cog belt drive to push 12+ PSI in the works right now). Drove it all summer 2010 under boost and so far so good. The stock tiny tube headers and luxury car cam are rely holding the engine back. $1100 will get me a set of kelford supercharger cams. And my friend Rick is going to make me a set of long tube headers.

I finally got around to redoing the interior last summer. I removed every single piece and scrubbed, cleaned prepped and then painted. I used the special high quality interior vinyl prep and black paint (about $150) so it came out nice. New black carpet went in as well. As for the fabric trim on the doors and speakers and such I found something that I felt had the same 80's feel as the rest of the supra.
