Or do what I did ;)

Also, the two metal pieces under the center section, but above the trim are removable so you can pain them bodycolor like stock.

VHT night shades works wonders allows you to match them

Its actually looks like shit unless you want your tails black. Better to get professionally tinted. That way you also dont get the spray can look when you look up close and there is no need for sanding and clearing.

I have that issue with my center lights as well. I think we both got the ADM lights. but looks isn't too much of an importance to me :p .

Are they supposed to not light up or they only light up in the 89+ shells?

Gotta pull the center section off, and there will be a nut on each one that holds it on from the back IIRC.

Hey, what should I be aware of before I dive into this? I've had JDM 89+ tails (and all the mouldings & side markers) in my closet for about 3 years now, it's time I pull the trigger. Will it be obvious what I need to do once I pull the old tails off? I thought I'd read before that it's almost a direct replacement...

drill 2 tiny holes in the body for the studs on the 89+ trim and either use the 89 lock, or bend your pre-89 lock bracket with a pair of pliers..

also you should DEFINTIELY replace the taillight gaskets, either with OEM gaskets, or something similar...

aside from that, the bulb holders are plug and play, however JDM taillights don't have rear side marker wiring, but you can use 89+ USDM bulb holders if you want to keep the rear markers...
