so i finally got my 1jz. only thing is i was told it was going to be strait out of a supra. i got it, and from what i can tell it was out of an auto tranny soarer.
but just to make sure, it has a fan and clutch on it, which means that it is a soarer engine. right? I've never seen a hydrofan setup up close, so i wasn't sure.
so if it is a soarer engine, i need the bic motor brackets. correct?
and i have a supra ECU and wiring harness. these will work correct?
are there any other things i need to know about as far as differences?

thanks for any input.

ive done some searching and havent come up with much, what is different about the wiring?
a lot, or just some minor things?

ecu plugs, wires are different colors through out the harness.

my engine came with a cut wiring harness. so what i need to do is keep the supra plugs on the ECU side, and put in the soarer ones on the engine side?
sorry if these seem like dumb questions. but i'm new to the wiring harness thing.

Did it come with the soarer ecu? Better yet, do you have the ecu plugs on the soarer harness still? Just follow what is on the thread that I made that someone linked and you'll see what you need to do. If you aren't good at wiring, I'd have it professionally extended.

i have a supra ecu, and no ecu plugs for the soarer. im negotiating with the company right now to try to get a complete soarer harness.
the thing that sucks is i have bought a pre made supra harness, already extended set up for 550;s

Well, I have a set of ECU plugs for the jza70 harness that I was going to maybe use. But, I'm not going to now. PM me if you are interested and I'll let you know how much to paypal if so.

wait, if you have a Supra extended harness and a Supra ECU , then you are all set. The sensors are still the same on either Soarer motors or JZa70 1jz motors. You will need different motor brackets , that's it.

Just replace the cut soarer harness with the extended one made for the Supra.

Or am I reading this wrong???

If you have the jza70 ecu and the jza70 harness, you're good. Like already mentioned, you'll need the jza70 engine brackets or some BIC brackets.. I'd stick with the clutch fan as well. It works great and won't fail as easily.

my plan exactly. good, so im all set. but now i have an extra fan clutch, blade and pulley. and water pump, and water neck. if anyone is interested.

as long as you didnt pay an mkiii jz price and paid the soarer price there is not much of a loss :D what company did you go through?

i was very happy to pay a few hundred extra for better service after what i went through with the other place i went through. after fighting with them for a month and a half, and getting a lawyer involved, they refunded most of my money, and i just cut my losses and walked away

what did you think about tiger, my brother is about to buy a 1jz supra engine and trans for his swap, he e-mailed them and they said they had them in stock.
would you use them again? How was shipping;pain or pretty smooth?engine clean? everything there thats supposed to be there?

sorry to hit you with the questions just so many different places to get engines and the only people that are around are the ones with negative feed back for them.
