I come from a land down under
I DL'd a vid awhile back (Chris Bergman's Mk4 I think) that did the same on the 1>2 he explained at as a badly tuned EBC made it make that noise!

I don't know how much time Westy has on the 35 but from my short time driving mine with it's bigNsloppy 1.06 AR Lag is the least of my concerns!
(hooking up on 18's is gonna be "interesting")

IJ: antilag is another name for a two-step rev limiter. of sorts...
true antilag is what you will generally see on rally cars. the spit-backfire between shifts. a real antilag setup will read the throttle position and when it drops below a certain % value, it will activate it by retarding timing up to 30 degrees in most devices. this turns the exhaust manifold/header area into a combustion chamber and keeps the turbo spooled.

Would this work in a drift/road race application? It sounds like it would, how would it affect how the engine runs overall, and would I be able to install some sort of power cutoff, so I can still drive a car equiped w/one on the street?

S9T: It goes positive @ 2000 :)

Not sure where full boost was hitting but going by what the dyno operator was saying it was a bitch to keep out of boost! (I didn't get to drive it tuned)

This is exactly what it does .

About the bird, that's normal, the coolant hasn't been filled up totally yet.

It's the Blitz Nur spec exhaust btw.

look into different EMS's, i know AEM has a feature for it, but i dont know what else. i'm sure they can all do it in some way, shape, or form.
it will work good in a road race/drift/autox application, it will even allow you to use a larger than ideal turbo for the situation, since it'll keep it spinnin.

it's a "mode" you go into... you can make the car run with or without it. i believe its a whole map that you upload into the ecu... but again, i'm not sure.

At least it can be turned off :)!

My Datto had lots of overlap on the Cam and short 4" sidepipes so did the flame show every gear change was fun for awhile but real hard to be inconspicuous if there were "Officers" about!

Really looking forward to a vid of your Car FW!

That's the whole point of the switch, when needed it can be activated ;)

About the video...oh yeah. Can't wait myself. :evil2:

That intake manifold sure looks like something Ron R. produced. Wonder if your local shop is buying them from Ron?

Nice setup. Too bad the folks in the photo don't realize it. Those two guys eyeing the MX3 drag car might not realize your engine is capable of making about 2x what that POS mazda engine will. (Unless that drag car has some very serious mods, like a different motor in there. The stock 4cyc engine used in the MX3 was a total dog IIRC.)

I like it, it needs a little more work of course, but i'm sure it was the nicest, if not the only MKIII there.

I like those rims, what are they?

The FFIM was custom made here, not bought somewhere else.

Hehe the MX-3 has a GT42R, a 1990 626 head and a Kia sportage engine block so the owner told me, it's hooked up to an Autronic SM4 and CDI 500 . It's a 2.0L 4 cyl and dynoed a bit over 600 hp on the dyno last friday. Not that bad ;)
But all in all , the MK3 really got some attention, I'm kinda glad ppl were amazed at not only the engine but the overall car.

Oh yes it does , it's never ever really finished :3d_frown:

They are SSR GT1 rims.

very nice car has changed my mind on some things to do to my car, did you move the power steering tank, what lines did you use if so?

Thank you . Yeah it was relocated just above the intercooler. The stock lines were used AFAIK.

how big and where did you make a hole for your intercooler pipe where you able to run it right to your intercooler after the hole was cut
