Fiberglass the dash

Anybody ever tried to fiberglass there dash. Ive got a few ideas about this and was wondering if anyone has done it before. I figured that fiberglass was flexible enough to resist movement and not crack. I was thinking of fiberglassing the whole thing and painting it back to stock with maybe some custom gauges. Plus its cracked all to crap

fiberglass flexible? no.

Then the price goes considerably up when you use UV resistant resin.

Bingo. Fiberglass isn't flexible at all. Of course, it's a dash. It doesn't really need to flex a ton...except maybe when your top's off (meaning the car, pervert).

What happins if you get in an accident and the dash splits then your face hits it? Its only glass it cant hurt right:dunno:

Wear a seatbelt, or racing harness, maybe?

...of course, you'd still have to worry about it coming at you in the event of a collision, instead of the other way around.

One word...stupid.

You either get the entire dash made correctly from a composite (be it FG, CF, CF/K etc) or don't bother. Half assing things in the cabin, better and easier ways to off yourself if that is what you are looking to do.

It's called a dash PAD for a reason...

Get an uncracked dash out of a donor car, or see if a place like justdashes can recover it.
