i bought myself a manifold for my car.it is a cheap china veilside replica, kinda like most people make and sell.i bought this particular one because it's two piece design.which i figured would make it easier to modify to fit in my car.there isn't anybody making these to bolt up to a 2jz in a mkIII,that i'm aware of anyway's.alot of the known company's out there making these sell for three time's the money(sp,vw,etc).i can't justify spending that money to cut them up and mod. to fit in the mkIII's skinnier chassis.if i wreck this manifold it wouldn't make me mad at myself, like screwing up a nice one.
allright i'll get to the point of the thread and stop rambling on.
i almost had a shit when i pulled it out of the box and seen it's size.it look's like it will be a little harder then i thought to fit,not to mention it's heavy.the whole manifold is cast aluminum except the tb,which appears to be machined.
here's a pic of the fat bastard
you can see in the pic's how the two half's bolt together.i'm planning on cutting the tank down a little, maybe a good inch.i'm going to have the upper welded back to the lower runner's,because the thread's will be gone.
which bring's me too a couple of question's,maybe some of the more knowledgable member's could help me with(ian, ron r,seth).
this thing has velocity stack's in it and i'm not sure if they should get cut off.the stack's do stick into the plenum a good amount,as seen in the pic's.it will be easy to cut them off and round off the top of the runner's,if that would be better.i'm just scared cutting the plenum down will make it more turbulant inside with the stack's in there.
feel free to post opinion's on this.any help is much appreciated.
