ffim 7m or JZ intercooler mounting pics plz

I recently got my intercooler for the 1j. it is hitting the support for the latch and horns unless i put it in at an angle like stock. I would like to see some pictures of how others have mounted theirs. I suppose it dosen't matter either 7m with a ffim or a 1/2jz. I just want to see if people are cutting the support or mounting at an angle. thanks

I just notched the bracket out a bit.

I just used a shorter intercooler. Precision sells one that is rated for 600 HP and is 31.5" L x 8" H x 3.5". I was able to fit mine without any cutting or fuss:

It's mounted to the stock bolts on the frame rails:

I know this isn't quite was you were asking but hopefully it might give you another option.

No pics either but I cut mine out below the first horn and mounted my intercooler to what was left of the bracket. Pretty much, the support bracket only connects the nose panel to the top of the radiator ect. so I could also mount my 11x10" oil cooler behind my intercooler. I also found another hole in the bracket to remount the lower horn.

Thanks for the reply guys. I lucked out on the intercooler. it is 24x15x3 I got it for 130 bucks from a friends shop, it will do for stock twins

You will have to cut the center latch support for an IC that size (goes up from the lower rad support to the latch ) We normally cut it just below the horn mounting tabs.

Thanks Randy that is where I have cleared it to. One question why is the drivers side horn lower then the passanger side? Just because, or is it to clear the latch?
