Hey...

I am looking into a Feramic clutch disc that horsepowerfreaks sells.

http://www.horsepowerfreaks.com/pri...isks/part/Feramic_Full_Face_-_Supra_MK3_Turbo

Anyone use this disc running high power? How bout some drag racing? How is it holding up?

I will be running it with a rebuilt stock pressure plate with a 100% increase in clamping force made by a small local shop. Unfortunately, the kevlar discs that the shop sells heat up and slip to easy and they only make a 4/6 puck feramic, no full face.

I am looking for 500whp daily with lots of street runs and moderate track usage as well as some race gas high hp runs/pulls. 7m + r154+ stock flywheel.

Just want to get some solid answers on the HPF full face feramic disc as $465 on just a DISC is hefty cash. Thanks again...

The only other full face feramic disc that I see is this one, but its not a full feramic disc, and I dont think the disc can be purchased seperately since all I need is the disc..

Thanks!

the feramic sounds like a great disk.
I have the 6 puck sprung bronze with act HD pp. I also have the fidenza flywheel. I have to rev it up over 2000rpm to engage from a dead stop in daily driving. The car will bog because of the lightweight flywheel if the rpm is under 1500. Engagement is good. Although some people cant drive my car because of the LWFW. Using the stock FW may help smooth out engagement. I dont know how well the stock PP upgrade will do. What is an act PP force, 3600?

The bronze engaged quick when i did a couple drag pulls but i have not gotten the hp over 300 yet. With the act it has a very short engagement area. A short clutch pedal engagement. I do like the bronze but i have not put it to a full test yet. I imagine the feramic would engage smooth but quickly.

The pressure plate I am using has held well over 500whp/tq so I am sure it will be fine. The company does offer a feramic disc for it, but its not a full face disc and they wont sell it to anyone unless it is a drag only car. So I know the PP will be fine.

Looks like this is the disc I will be getting.

sorry,

act pressure plate (PP) that hpf sells i think has 3600 lbs pressure and is what i use with their 6 puck bronze.

i am having to pull my engine to replace main seals and check my harmonic balancer (HB) to see if the rubber is gone. why dont we exchange clutches and compare engagement. you pay shipping.
sounds like a good idea. I would like to drive the two different clutch configurations tho to see the difference.

is the main difference in engagement distance or how quick the clutch engages mainly in the PP? Many people have trouble getting my car to move from a stop without bogging or scratching off. I would like to see the difference in yours with that PP.
