Feeler: Wider sawblades, possibly 17's?

I'd add 0.5" to the front width of a MkIV TT rear rim, and 0.75" to both sides of a front rim, making them a 17x9.5 and 17x10 pair. I'd have to check the clearance for the front rim because .75" is just a guess... but I know there's alot more room to stuff meat in that fender well. The rear rim has little clearance to the spring (0.25" or less), but a good chunk of space to the fender lip.

I really like the MkIV rims as they look so deceptively stock that people don't often realize how much tire is stuffed into the fenders compared to an average car. I would love to widen them and fit 275F/295+R with nice slightly stretched shoulders. I may even prefer it to aftermarket wheels.

Maybe I missed it: Whats the procedure to make the wheels 17" How do they do it???

I gathered that they cut the center piece of the wheel out and weld it into a new outer hoop.

Pointless to just widen a 16 inch wheel. I see that they can apparently make them 17's but to those that just want to make a 16 wider, go look for tires. They don't exist in widths to make these 10 inch wide wheels useable.

I see absolute no point in widing the sawblades, they're ugly.

I would consider widening the 91-92 5 spokes. I LOVED my 92's 5 spoke wheels. They fit with the supras' shape and style perfectly.

If you want wider 91-92s get MKIV NA wheels. Look essentially the same and are wider 16x8 and 16x9

I'm with stretch, the 91-92 5 spokes do look nice (I had a set as my previous wheels). If you want them in 17's and wider, get the MKIV TT rims. They look damn close and are decent in pricing.

Umm, the MKIV N/A rims are the same width. The TT rims are different though. The N/A rims are 16x7's, the TT rims are 17x8's and 17x9's

N/A Mk4 wheels are 16x8 in front, and 16x9 in the rear.

I have a set of N/A Mk4 wheels in my garage.

Drag tires are readily available in 16in wheel, nice tire sizes too.
