Well hell. That's nearly 5lbs. off the nose.

I wasn't sure if they were even working or not.
I never scoped them out before the tear down.

And did away with the ac, during that time period.

I knew they weren't working and, if they were.
I knew they weren't right.

I'm happy to pull them.

How about I wire them up on the ass end to push a bit.

I'm wondering, why would you want your fans to cool things down after you shut the engine off and get out?

It kinda makes sense but at the same time it doesn't. what's the real reason?

as far as wanting them to run a little longer after shut-down....just to help cool down under-hood temps a little. i run headers on a rebuilt motor. everything runs great!..but under-hood temps seem to be very hot and heat is never good. also, i think, (i don't have a degree in thermal dynamics), but it's like cooking something in the oven. if instructions for a meal say to put it in the oven for 20 minutes @ 300 degrees. you could actually put it in for 15-17 minutes after reaching temp then shut off the oven. the residual heat in the oven will still cook the food. i'm assuming the same apllies to an engine. after shut-down, there's still some residual heat that's slowly cooking everything under the hood. why not have a fan cool it off?! just my thoughts. i could be wrong about the whole thing. either way, running cool can't be a bad thing here in florida.

Good point!

I could even see some parts of the engine even heating UP beyond their normal temps, after shut down, because of no airflow or coolant flow, and heat radiating and conducting from the hot exhaust and related things....

nice.
