failing emissions on nox with a 1jz

failing ct emissions with 1jz mostly on nox, two years ago it passed at the limit for HC 100ppm, since then i had two injectors get stuck pretty much wide open a few times and it was crapping gas out the exhaust so i guess the 3" magnaflow cat is done
2years ago passed

now, first time i hauled ass right before the test, numbers are off the top of my head as they have the paperwork

second time did it after letting it idle failed both HC and nox, training mode( not real test)

third time without thinking too much put bottle of drygas and 1oz of acetone into 1/4 tank of gas..bad idea

8400nox so thats 7 times the limit, yeah i went and filled right up so i wouldnt melt a piston due to my stupidity

so the question is what can i put in the gas tank to pass? alcohol? acetone? naptha? im going to try and get another cat, is there any trick like maybe running on 5 cylinders? i have to have this figured out by monday when i get it tested the last time, and mechanics have no idea whats goin on other than that i dont have an egr...because its a 1JZ

Vehicles without an egr, rely on proper fuel control and a healthy cat (usually multiple cats) to pass for nox.

TIP: get an obd2 approved cat.

Cali approved CAT actually. Those are usually good 3-way systems.

8400 NOX...wow. That is some serious combustion chamber temps to produce that much NOx.

god i hate emissions....wait i dont have to deal with them lol. to answer your ? most parts stores should be able to order CALI approved cats(universals)

got a cat from a friend that passed his 1jz car with and passed well. also went to advance looking for that guaranteed2pass crap and got a bottle of lucas fuel system cleaner which said lowers nox in bold on front of bottle. yeah..no
HC is 130 limit 120
CO is a constant .04 for the fifth time limit is .6X
Nox is 2200 limit 12XX

Pass in a bottle doesnt work. Just a way to get money.

Did you use 1 cat or 2? Prolly need to to pass a 1j since they were in countries with no emissions or very little.
