I was wondering how to activate/deactivate the stock alarm. Also, how does it work? Is it any good? Lastly, does it just use the horn as a deternt or dose it regulate power to engine controls? Thanx for reading and have a goodnite.

I can't remember how you turn it off but basically it is activated when you lock the doors with the key. It is set off if the door is unlocked/opened without the key to unlock the door. I know this because one time I had the window down, locked the door with the key then reached inside and opened the door. To turn it off you have to put the key in the ignition and turn it to ON. To reset it you have to lock the door with the key and unlock it with the key. The car won't start unless you reset it.

it is activated/deactivated through the door lock key cylinders.
Its triggered from both doors, hatch lid, and hood.

when triggered, it sounds the alarm horn and disables the starter.
My oppinion is if you are going to stay it, then rewire the starter disable circuit to kill the fuel pump and or ignition power cause if you have a manual trans car, the car can still be push started if the ign switch is hot wired and or if the ign. lock cylinder is broke to use a screwdriver and many car thieves do.
