I still don't understand what the big deal is about a woman owning a sports car, or wrenching on it. :dunno:
I would LOVE to be able to share my enthusiasm for cars with a significant other, and since I'm a heterosexual man, that individual would have to be a woman.

I think it's a bit of a turn on when a lady knows her way around a car...
I guess part of it could be the want to talk to a woman about a car, and not receiving that look of bewilderment that says: "I just drive cars I could care less how to look under the hood or check my oil...talk about something interesting please!!"
Since I love cars, and feel they are a substantial, enjoyable part of my life, its nice to see when women have that same respect for the things I do.
I could also see how for some men, it would be a hobby that they want to do alone, but personally I think working on cars with a girlfriend would be sweet.
Besides the fact that you don't see women driving sportscars as much as men, its MUCH more rare (at least from my POV) to see a girl willing or capable to work on a car herself.
Maybe men see it as a strength? MANY people in developed urban cultures use cars as a HUGE part of living, and knowing how to maintain a car yourself saves money and shows independence.
In a weird sort of way, it's a survival skill for the world we live in. Of course you can pay someone to fix your car and change your oil, but knowing how to "survive" on your own and avoid the economic "hunters" (of your money) is attractive.
If you look at it from a survival standpoint; any extra skill such as this, in my mind, could make any woman with such skills more desirable to a man than a woman without them - instinctively that is, all other traits aside.
Sure, not being able to work on a car is by
no means life-threatening or a great sensible cause for most men to choose one woman over the other...but it makes sense. Survival of the fittest, i guess...
I hope that is understandable, i'm pretty tired and what makes sense in my mind frankly might not have come together very well in one way or another.
If it
didn't make sense, howabout I just compare women getting dirty, greasy, and sweaty while bending under/over/around/in a car, to women doing so in mud fights...:biglaugh: Gettin' down and dirty turns some guys on:naughty:
How's that for ya?
