So i had bought the car with what was a Stage 2 F1 Clutch had receipts and very little mileage.

But anyway yesterday i had just got done replacing my rotors/Brakes/Shocks and struts take the car out about 40miles later the clutch starts slipping lol. So yea i don't recommend it.

Also what do you think the best bang for your buck clutch is that is around ?.

Also found out Metal oil line from turbo to block is leaking (Fuck) so yea need to get that also

What are you going to use it for? Street driving? Drag racing? Both?
What characteristics do you want it to have?
How much power does it need to be able to hold? Torque, not horsepower.

Street and Race

I would like it to be smooth as possible but would settle for a deal

350+ Trq just so i wouldn't have to worry about upgrading it for awhile

But really i just need to get my car back on the road

this is the first bad review of this product

usually people run the stage 3 kit rather than the stage 2 though

Can't beat a True Aisin clutch for its price. I'm sure if install correctly and tolerance is in spec Aisin clutch should hold 350wtrq easily.

I can't believe that many would buy a XTD or F1 clutch and expect it to be any better. Nothing towards you turbo habanero.

I have the F1 stage 3 with an aluminum flywheel, and it's slipping after~ 5,000 miles. I don't beat on the car much, and I don't think I have more than 275tq at the wheels. I actually think my front tranny seal might be leaking and contaminating the disc, but when I replace it, I'm going to make sure that the flywheel-pp mounting surface is backcut properly to make sure I'm not losing clamping force before I even install it.

Many times when the Disc is coated you can detect the faint smell of burning oil and asbestos (material of disc either or). I have it happen before on other vehicles, and the smell is very obvious ( location and smoke). Usually ending up to be the rear main seal.

Sometimes you just have to figure that its the manufactured part that has failed. This is not just a common problem upon the supra community, but the whole automobile community. Stick to something that is tried and true. 2x230- F1 stage3 = 460+ labor twice. ACT clutch kit=450-650- Labor once and PROVEN.

Stick to a organic street disc for street vehicles. Puck for Drag and track. Heavier duty pressure plates for 350+whp vehicles. A statement from an old timer retired SCCA championship/drag/tech driver/teacher

Here's a hint guys.....

ALL pressureplates in these clutch kits are OEM. The difference is they take them apart, replace/heat treat the diaphram spring. The scam ones aren't taken apart, just painted.

Also, it's very easy to fuckup the clutch install on an R154 tranny as the throwout bearing hub assembly must be put together EXACTLY as shown in the TSRM or it WILL fail. Not only that, clutch pedal freeplay must be adjusted after a clutch job as well.

Ummm.

I have yet to see anything that tells me the Spec Pressure Plate has more clamping force than the stock Aisin.

It's been said numerous times the Spec's are just painted.

Yea since i have had the car (Not very long) Only have driven it 200 or so miles the clutch has had about 3-4 inches of grab and does not catch until pedal is almost disengaged.

This might also be possible for me as i do think my seals are leaking.. But i might as well while i am in there go with a good clutch and do the Job right the first time.

I here nothing but good with ACT clutches but they come with a price tag :kickinthenuts:but eh good shit aint cheap. :icon_bigg

I find ironic I just put new Brakes,Rotors,Springs,Shocks and struts on the car and passed emissions yesterday and drove about 40miles tops clutch starts slipping.

have you driven one?

my 3+ takes considerably more effort to depress than a stock plate. It is also fairly evident that the plate has been disassembled, as there are missing assembly rivets, and no paint on the springs.
