Im not sure if this is the same guy that my cousin bought a cleaned head from. Possibly from the same dude because he said he has many 7m and 1j heads. The head my cousin received is cleaned and packed and assembled. Hes running the car right now with that same head. Maybe you were just unlucky. Shits do happens though. File a didpute, something is better than nothing. Unless he will refund or send you a different one.

it is a difference of opinion on what a good used head is. Why would you give bad feedback before seeing if he would take the head back?? It is too late now, but if you don't like what you buy on e-bay, you just e-mail the guy and say "the head is not in the shape you said it was. Can I return it for a refund?" If he refuses then you make a compalin to e-bay or a dispute with paypal. Damage during shipping is fedex's fault not the sellers. Should have purchased from a reputable seller right here on the forum, then you would not be having any of these problems.

you bought a head off of ebay... you should measure the thickness of it too just to see how much they have really cut off.

and check it for flatness. if its not flat, then i'd defintaley start bitchin.

another note to take, eBay is the last place you should look for any engine parts, small stuff yeah, but important things. I still don't trust eBay with that. No i should rephrase that, i don't trust some PEOPLE on eBay.

Two points to make about ebay.

1. If you plan to make a claim, do NOT leave negative feedback. I myself have worked hard to have an extremely good feedback rating. I've used a couple of names on there as a seller (different times of course), and received a negative on both names. 1 negative versus 650 positives on one name, and 1 versus 400 positives on the other. Both were problems that I would have easily taken care of before the negative was given, if they had just communicated. But once they were left, they can kiss my ass before I deal with them at all after that. You can agree with the seller to remove the negative if he will work with you.

2. Many people get confused by looking at a sellers feedback percentage. This is a flawed method of approving a seller. You MUST click on that number and get an idea of who you are dealing with. Here's an example: A seller who has had 10 transactions and only 1 of them was negative has a rating of 90 percent. He may be over looked by a buyer who wants "at least" a 95 or better. That same buyer may be the same idiot who buys from one of those guys who have a feedback rating of 35,000 and a percentage of 99. That 1 percent that is negative there represents 350 negatives. Who would you rather buy from? A lot of buyers don't understand this.

The Damage to the studs and the scratches on the block to head surface is Fed Ex's fault I drove for them up until 2 days ago and that box should never have made it to your house. I can clearly see where the studs poked thru the sides and got bent and the scratches are from the head sliding around in the box and getting scratched by dust and grit let in by the HUGE tear in the box . Fucking driver didnt even try to tape the box shut .

You should have it checked at a machine shop for cracks etc. If that head came to me like that I would dedicate a weekend to cleaning and checking but most likely take it to a machine shop.
The cam journal wear etc.....once I put something in I don't want to have to dick with it for a long time. I got a rebuilt head for mine cause I didn't want any head problems. Other cars I would take used no problem but not for this car.

Usually these people will work with you and this is damaged in shipping, not just poor packing. I had an insured item from ebay say "delivered" on the internet yet I never got it. USPS paid out on the item but it took me 2 months of paperwork etc and denials to get my refund. The ebay seller was good too but the first reaction is to go ballistic and lose sleep and it aint worth it.
