after paying $850 to the machine shop, i've got my block back but learned that the rebuilt head i got (cylinder heads int'l) is below the min. clearance, which i was told is 4.560 in. at one end mine measured 4.555 in and the other side measured 4.545 in. is this going to cause interference with the pistons/valves or otherwise do harm?

do i need to call and get another rebuilt head?

The deck is getting very thin at that point so for a maximum effort engine I wouldn't use it.

As noted you can adjust with a thicker HG.

IJ, this wouldn't include a stock daily driven NA that's being refreshed top to bottom, would it?

about how thick a head gasket should i look at to keep normal compression ratios, and do i need a thicker one so my pistons do not hit my valves?

he told me that's the minimum thickness of the head, had it jotted down on there with marker.

so i'm free to go, officer :D?
