I'm thinking of getting a exhaust real soon, I noticed Cooleeze sells a 3" exhaust kit, I just have to buy the muffler, anyone else have this kit? I was just gonna get a cheap muffler off ebay, is that a good idea? will any muffler be ok, or should I just get a real exhaust?

Just to let you know, it's made of mild steel and will eventually rust.

Cheap, higher flowing exhaust would be the RSR-GTII, I have it, it's stainless, comes with a silencer, and is loud as shit with it off ;).

The older versions (like the one my cousin has) were indeed coated mild steel. They have since redone the whole exhaust in SS. I confirmed this with a lot of guys that got in on a big sale through 935 a few months back, it's in section.

Oh ok, hmm, now its a REALLY hard choice between that and the NUR Spec.

It's been a while since I have looked at cat-backs, thats why I didn't know.

I think you should just buy a real exhaust, and my vote is for the NUR Spec. 2 great years out of mine so far.

My advice:

Buy the material & have it welded in place. I had spent roughly $150 for 3" SS pipe & mandrel bends, $70 for a SS vibriant resonator & another $70 for a SS Magnaflow muffler. I think I paid around $60 for the SS hangers & flanges. My partial SS DP (just a V-band flange with a 90 on it) was part of my turbo kit so I'm not sure of the exact price, but IIRC, it was $100.

That's $450 (plus the cost of labor for welding) for a full 3" SS, mandrel bent exhaust, including the DP. I love the results too. While I'll admit my opinion is biased, I have to say that the fit couldn't be better (thanks Aaron) & it's one of the most free flowing, best sounding exhausts fitted to a MKIII. The price can't be beat as well....

Speaking of which, what catback do you have on your car?
I DONT KNOW :(

It came on my car, and the only markings on it are a JASMA certification plate.

I THINK it's an old Blitz Realize TT exhaust system. Whatever it is, it sounds damn nice. I'm getting tired of patching holes in the muffler though. I need a new exhaust, but I want to replace it with the same thing.

Or just be a baller and get Titanium and Carbon Fiber like me :p

pppsstt
the carbon ti is the muffler. The piping leading to the muffler is Stainless not Ti ;) The only full Ti system I have seen are for the acura, honda and for sports bikes.

I've had several HKS exhausts over the years and you can't go wrong with HKS.
However, I recently installed a Horspowerfreaks Goliath on my MKIII and it is astonishing. Perfect fit, only weighs 20 lbs. and I've never heard anything like it.
