you don't think that it would be better to go 3in ? and change it to 3in Down pipe with free flow cat and upgrade the headers down the road.

i don't know how far you want to take the ge but 3in is a little overkill for it and is not needed, unless you are going to turbo the car later on then the cat back can be used

if you have the money, get a header (this should come with a downpipe portion that will get it to where the stock exhaust would be)
will probably be 2.5".
Get a cat that matches size, same with a catback.
A header back 2.5" is plenty for an NA

A N/A does not need a downpipe.Only on turbo versions only.
A 2.5 diameter exhaust would be perfect.Maybe 2.75.
Find a decent header,add a free flow cat,and then find a cat-back exaust.
Be careful of the stuff they sell on e-bay,look at shops on SM,then look on the web.
It also depends on your smog regulations where you live.

How much would you say this cost on AVG.

If you aren't going to build the engine up dramatically, even 2.5 inch exhaust is slight overkill. You will be louder, but not faster.

Toyota called the parts(at one time) manifold, head pipe, catalytic converter, muffler. They call the muffler and pipes "muffler". Check with the parts counter to be sure. Not that you want a Toyota exhaust.

HKS no longer produces the sport exhaust.

It was 60mm mandrel piping with a baffled muffler for naturally aspirateded engines. That is all the bigger you need.

Many people here have posted about custom work at an exhaust shop for reasonable money. Have them mandrel bend 60mm or so, up to 2.5" and get a baffled muffler. Most of the aftermarket baffled mufflers will be kind of loud.

Try the FAQ at the top on upgrades for a muffler.

I've read a catback from turbo supra is a bit better than 7mge stock? Though IIRC we have first bottleneck at just after the ''downpipe'' (can the catback really help then?)

ge = N/A = header
gte = turbo = downpipe

Correct terminology will get you a long ways ;)

this is kind of a given but what would be the correct terminology for the pipe that comes down from the headers on a N/A

if you have the money ,i would go with a header , high flow cat ,and 2.5 cat back with a straight through muffler and maby a resonator if its to loud for your taste.

I can only afford 500 so i think i am kinda short on cash right now. I was also wondering will i be able to do this my self or will i need a welder? Im really not sure how Supra's are.
