ok, so I'm still looking for a exhaust, here is a idea, I am thinking of getting the Cooleeze 3" pipes, and a OBX motorsports muffler, anyone do this before, what do you think, its a 3" system can't be to bad, right?

I did mine on my own and a friend who has his own shop and builds race cars welded it all up for me free.

I spent about $140...for 10 ft of 3" piping, 3" high flow cat, and 3" race muffler.
He hooked me up with everything.

Cheers,
Roy

I really want the HKS Drager exhaust, but it is a little to much right now, I usually rush to do work to my cars, thats why I want this for now, then maybe later, I can get all good stuff, I just wanna see if their is a difference.

I've got the Cooleeze test pipe & catback, with a Borla xr1 muffler. Been on the car about 21 months & closing in on 45k miles. Been very pleased w/ both overall.

Only problems I've had:
the hangers on the test pipe don't line up well w/ my trans (I'm using the w58 though) - the catback pipes themselvers were a perfect fit.
keeping paint on. I'm on my third paint job now, and I expect to have to repaint again in early spring. Not a bit deal, really.

I just recently got the Tanabe Hyper medalion from Driftmotion and it is my favorite exhaust I have ever had. Super nice quality, and nice and mellow when cruising and sounds bitchin' at WOT. For the price, It is awesome!! It allows me to not run a cat and not draw attention when cruising unlike my old defcon 3" which was annoyingly loud.

a good stainless steel catback will more than likely outlive the car...

if you deal with salt at all, I highly recommend stainless...

Based on the rest of the cooleeze product lineup for the MKIII supra, I'd say it's mild steel, with mandrel bends, but chopped up and welded together to get the correct exhaust path instead of being one long exhaust mandrel bent in one piece. I have the RSR-GTII, one of the cheaper exhaust and one of, if not the highest flowing 3" made for the supra, plus they are no long made in mild steel and are stainless. To top that off, the prices are slightly lower now with the stainless for some reason. I paid 500.00 for the mild steel exhaust, and 475 for the SS one.

Yes, they are damn hard to get out as they are a tight fit. To get mine out, I uscrew the bottom part, and rev the engine until the exhaust shoots it out, which it only takes one time to do it and not much throttle, but pulling one out by hand or with pliers... :nono:

Why do you have to keep on repainting it??

Tim, that's the exhaust i'm thinking about getting also. If you don't mind, what price are they going for?

How does that not running a cat work?? Or do you have a test pipe in there also? Any pics of the exhaust.

You know, I've always wondered how durable will the stainless steel stand up to the abuse it has to endure.

But I still want the Tanabe SMH exhaust.

yeah, I plan on getting this system for now, its cheap, and I can use any muffler I like. I'm looking at the OBX B10 muffler on ebay, looks real nice, my car is stock for now, this wil be a starter until I really get a good system.

save a bit more and get one that you won't have to upgrade

upgrading twice is costly in the long run, look at your plans for the car...
