Yeah, the 42 has a larger compressor housing than the 40. Tho aren't you running a 2JZ? ;)

(aka the manifolds are different)
Compressor housings are like turbine housings... A 42 isnt going to have a larger housing than a 40, if they both have 70ar housings, they will have the same outside diameter... ;) Its not the size of the turbo thats the problem, its the size of the compressor housing... Anything larger than a 60AR will need a spacer...

There is nothing wrong with a "ching chang chong" Ebay mani... Its solid, the welds are relatively clean, and I havent seen any faulty manifolds yet, well, catostrophic failures anyway... With as many that are out there, they are producing a pretty good tract record...

Dow - I've ceramic coated 4-5 HKS long runners...none were cracked. It's a beefy manifold.

IJ's right - the GT42 is physically larger than the GT40. ;)

jdub, appreciate the info. Reign - I have made no decisions yet on which way I'm going.... I'm thinking of selling off my exhaust related components, and starting fresh as far as the exhaust is concerned.

As far as the ebay mani goes, I've got a Canton billet block oil adapter - no worries about clearing the stock oil filter setup here!
