Whats up guys im stuck deciding between what exhaust route i want to take. I either want to do a bic ddp, test pipe and hks/some other brand catback or a bic ddp and a dumper w/ stock exhaust. I like the fact that my car would always sound good with the full exhaust but i also like the sleeper route with the dumper. My question is how would it sound with bic ddp and stock exhaust? And how much more power would be made with a dumper? Thanks for any helpful replies

A 3" exhaust will look better and flow better IMHO. It's also always "on" for when you want the power, and it's going to be MUCH quieter than a dump...

Personally after owning a DDP for quite a while now, I'd go with the recirculated one...

After owning a DDP/Test pipe/3" catback for a few years now the only change I'd make is the recirc. DDP and most will agree with me.
I've also tried driving my car with open stock downpipe(very loud)
with DDP and dump before the muffler(very very loud)
and with no catback(Open after testpipe)or open DDP(intolerably loud)
I wouldn't want to drive this thing without a full exhaust system. Not on the street for more than 5 minutes at least.

I would get the dump for your wastegate and get a full 3in exhaust. just put the silencer in the exhaust and you got your nice sounding quiet exhaust, but when you wanna be loud you still got your dump tube!:biglaugh: I have the Blitz system on my 1j and i love it for daily, i just wish i had a aftermarket wastegate with a dump tube for when i wanna have some fun.

See, sometimes I love my open wastegate, but since I've gone back to stock boost (or as stock as my mods allow) the wastegate opens so early it gets irritating.

My exhaust is mean enough sounding at full song, don't need the wastegate screaming anymore LOL

Same. My boost is around 10psi now and the wastegate opens in about 2 seconds of WOT. I'd much rather just a deep exhaust sound but the rushing of the DDP is all I can hear in the cab sometimes.

I've said it many times...

If you're running a test pipe you're either:
-running leaded race fuel
-cheap

Run a damn cat unless you're running leaded race fuel! If I'm stuck behind you on a cruise and it's burning my eyes I'm gonna be pissed...

^ Haha, the man who speaks the truth!

You can get about the same gains with a high-flow 3" cat as you can with a 3" test pipe. Only real differences are: one- if you get pulled over and the cop decides (for whatever reason) to look under your car, you won't get in trouble for having no cat, and two- your car doesn't smell like shit.

Even if the high-flow cat is more expensive, it's worth it IMO

Also, if you'd like a dump, have a custom cat-back made up with the dump pipe AFTER the cat, so you still have that option if you want it.

With my new downpipe I plan to add a 3" cat. Just gotta cut and weld the flanges. Tired of the hassle of getting an inspection sticker, and the smell when I first start it up.
