Alright everyone, I've about had it with all the inside jokes leaking into the supra-related sections of this site. I'm not the only one either. There have been numerous complaints about people having to sift through inside jokes and the like in order to get to information pertaining to the first post in the thread.

It has gotten very old, very fast. This is a warning to everyone:

If myself or any other moderator catch inside jokes in the supra-related forums on this site, you will be issued a 24hr ban. So think about it next time you decide you're going to try to be funny in a manner in which the majority of the board will not understand.

This is not a board consisting of cliques. (or at least, it SHOULDN'T be) We're all friends here, so keep the inside jokes out. Nobody likes to sift through a bunch of garbage in order to read about what's actually in the title of the thread.

You have been warned.

And to those of you who consider yourselves smartasses and post inside jokes in this very thread, I'll ban you immediatly. :)

I think the ones who are having a hard time skimming through a thread just need to learn to read faster.

Because people are getting sick of checking back on their threads and having the same 4 or 5 guys run off with it -- constantly posting things they could (should) say over IM...

A number of the more knowledgeable "old timers" are leaving. Their information and wisdom gone... And for what? So a handful of people can have their brand of fun at others' expense? This isn't a new phenomena. This same thing happened with Supraforums a couple of years ago (and with the SOGI email list a few years before that).

I'm being serious though. Why is it bad to throw a litle life into threads? I'd much rather see that than some old guy that has something to prove and calls everyone a fucking idiot.

Yeah, well I'm one of those "old guys" and I've never called you or anyone else an idiot here. The people that fit that category have no problem proving it their self ;)

Don't have anything to prove to you or anyone else...I'll be happy never to help you or your CA gang again.

You know...it's not that serious, but the guy that wants their question answered doesn't want the thread cluttered up with a bunch of BS. What is with you CA guys...no respect, can't even say thanks. I promise you I can read likely 3-4 times you and your bud's speed...the juvenile banter gets old.

Dead on...the question is do we want a Supra forum or a social forum. The solution to this problem is simple ;)

Another benifit is shutting off those stupid sigs, not just the big ones. It has made the forum better.

I don't view avatars either for that matter.

As much as I like reading pages upon pages of stuff here on SM, I would much rather read a thread that was 1-3 pages and answered every question completley over a 12+ page thread that you have to sift through piles of BS just to find a nugget of good useful info.

thank god a mod said something abouth this...
cuz i get f'N tired of going thru numerous pages of reading some posts that shouldnt be there.

it takes me so long to read all the good info cuz its all hiding it BS posts.

i enjoy laughing at some of the BS posts, but i think u need to tone it down to like 2-3 posts not like 15-20.

I do agree with both Mattjk and you Shaeff,
I do like to see a bit of humor and see a bit of an actual person with a personality behind these screen names on the boards, it gives me a smile, and is part of what I love about the supra community, good, funny guys.
And I do agree that a person should not have to sift through a couple pages of shit to find an answer, which is when it really should be regulated.

i don't mind the joking around a bit. seriously. it lightens the mood everywhere, even if it was light in the first place. but the inside jokes are straight up OUT OF CONTROL. and it's those jokes that start taking down pages like they're going out of style.

How about you guys figure out some stuff by yourself? :3d_frown: What info are you looking for that's so important???

I find it laughable that 75% of the tech stuff that people talk about here is shit my friends and I did when the MKIII was a current model, and there was no INTERNET!!! but you don't see me going around saying "I'm here. Kiss my feet you moron! Ask me a question but it better be a good one or I'll insult your intelligence with my dry humor that no one laughs at." I've fully restored exotic cars like a 69 Miura SV, made an entire wiring harness and fuse box from scratch, did a frame off restoration on a 72 Europa, I had one of the first Mr2 turbo's in the country to get into the 12's, I've done show cars for big companies like Alpine and Nakamichi; full custom stereo systems, fiberglass fabrication, I've designed and built electronic circuits, my own home amps, turntables, preamps, had my own company making cables, sold over 300 custom installed video screens for subarus (search on the subaru forums for "mattjk screen", etc etc etc, with NO INTERNET!!!!! I guess I should be a cocky motherfucker but no, I'd rather joke around and help people for free, or maybe just food because I ENJOY it, not because I have a failed bitter life and no friends...

It's one thing to thank someone for help, that's just common courtesy, but I or anyone else should not have to kiss your ass till the end of time. Give me a fucking break. Someone mods their undertray? Let them try and find out for themselves. They've learned something important, which is to get through life without someone babyhanding them. Don't sit there and say "that's fucking stupid, why would a toyota engineer design it like that if it wasn't good?" Oh, you mean like the stock 7mgte head gasket?

Relax the sphincter a bit. Gosh.

P.S. Sorry for the rant, I just typed whatever came to my head, even if it doesn't make any sense.
