i just got it done, due to having an overbite... only like the 3rd day now, but jesus... it sucks!

just wondering if any of you had any suggestions and what made it any easier when you got it done...

I had something similar. When I was 12 I was out riding with friends and my front wheel locked up, I went end over end into a curb. I had braces, wires, and cemented front teeth for 4-5 months. I hope you like soup and milkshakes.

Pain pills help alot.

10 days 100% closed like how it is (i have 5 bands in like 5 different spots in my mouth)
however many days after that with just 1 or 2 bands holding on

but i put on one of those nose strips and holy shit its so much easier to breathe!!!! i've been sleeping all day! hahahaha

had mine for a month wired shut after jaw surgery.. blender and ensure drink is your friend. your going to lose weight, your gonna hate things during this. just stay with it. hope they gave you good dope.. they didn't for me.

A guy i went to tech school with had his jaw wired shut after his drunk ass fell off a fence.

He tried to tell us he got into a fight with 12 other guys... however the complete lack of injuries on any other part of his body was a good indication he had used his face to break his fall, lol.

Protien shakes, ensure, and a blender, will help immensley... Mk3runner is dead on.

don't try to cheat and route junk food behind your back teeth, your body will have a harder time digesting and that might lead to constipation...and then both ends will be shut down..

Mate I feel your pain, I had my jaw broken years ago and had to have it wired shut for 7 weeks! It suxs! I lived on potato soup! Best of luck with it all.

yup, and im pretty sure i'll never have the nerves back in my lower teeth in the front or in the area between my chin and lower lip... i was told it could happen, either that or its just take a long time to heal. but it felt so funny to shave... haha

but tomorrow i get the rubber bands changed to lighter ones and i can eat mashed potatoes, mac & cheese, and all sorts of other stuff. so after tomorrow it wont be that bad....

I had the opposite - serious underbite. I had some tingling and numbness in spots for about a year, and now I'm fine.

Unless it's winter and rainy, then it gets kind of achey.

I also had an underbite, but luckily didn't need to have my jaw wired shut...

I did however have to have a pallatle (sp?) expander put in, in which I turned twice a day, and it literally expanded my skull sideways, then came 4 years of braces, and a permanent lower retainer cemented on...

They said there was a chance I would have needed headgear (that big shit Lisa Simpson had on.....dental plan...lisa needs beaces.....dental plan), even gave me the pamphlets for it, but I dodged a bullet and didn't need it...
