I didnt find this info searching, so i thought id take the time to post this info in case anyone would like to know. First off it would seem the RHD and LHD Mirror Glass is exactly the same (Both Sides). Judging by the glass they are not (Flat and Convex like the US/Canada mirrors (reversed for RHD)) but i want to call it a wide angle mirror. I compared my Convex Passenger side mirror to my RHD Euro mirror and the W-A mirror allowed me to see a little bit more, obviously they take getting used. Now from what i can tell based on Toyodiy.com part #'s (and from what Martin P has told me) is that what makes the mirrors angle for LHD and RHD is the pivot arm bracket inside the mirror housing, im trying to figure out a way to get the passenger side to angle more towards me at the moment. I do not know if this is the same for JDM mirrors if someone has a set if they would mind sending me pics of the mirror glass that be great. Hope this info helps people who are looking to get Euro mirrors but were worried about the optics, when i figure out how to modify the pivot arm ill post my findings here.

Pictures i tried my best here so bear with me please.

Its raining outside so i got creative and used my bathroom mirror as a flat glass representation. I stuck up tape along the wall, and the cabinet. When i find a convex mirror ill post a pic up here as well.

Judging from the pics ive seen of JDM mirrors the glass is indeed the same as the Euro and Aus mirrors. you may be able to shim the actual mirror motor in the housing to angle it more towards the car so it can be adjusted properly i have tried it yet but will when i get some time. Im still trying to think of ways besides getting a LHD pivot arm.

I found they worked nice when one my car :)

But I think I know what you're talkig about. I have my mirrors adjusted a lot different than most people. I used to have it different, like most people do but I use them different and I can see a lot more.

Car moves from the rearview mirrors, and begins to enter the side mirror as it exits the rearview, and comes to the side of the car as it exits the side mirrors. I always see the car, no blindspot.

Jdm glass is the same shape as UK/Euro glass BUT the black mounting plate is different- they mount differently to UK/euro ones, BUT you can heat the mirror in the oven to soften the plastic and swap them to have Heated glass in the Jdm mirrors(details on Supradupra's website),(Its ok until you break one doing it as they Jdm glass costs me around £28 sterling a side).

Now weather the are convex or flat I'm not sure, There was flat and convex glass for sale on UK Ebay recently for mk3 supra's But I've not seen it for a few weeks.

If I had a spare set of mirrors here I would strip them down But I've only got my Jdm ones on the car.

I would expect that to move the field of view out wards you would need to shim the motor mounts out wards on the inside slightly, If i can pick up a UK spec mirror this week I will dismantle another one and look,

I've just gotten used to mine, as I parallel park alot on my street, I enjoy having a "real distance" view when reversing, and seeing how far I am from the curb...

I also enjoy having a wider view from my driver's side..

it's not for most, but it's livable..

I want to know how you shimmed it, I cant see any thing out my pass side. I thought about doing that on my 4hr drive home today but if you did it already and you can explain then you'll save me some investigating time.

Pop out the mirrors, all you need is a flat blade screw (wrapped in electrical tape) stick it underneath the mirror and pop it out. There are four screws holding the mirror motor onto the Pivot arm. I added washers underneath the mirror motor to angle it towards me more. Four total, two on each hole. I wouldnt do more than three washers each as the mirror will be sticking WAY out of the housing itself thus making it look really stupid. On the driver side i added 6 washers total 3 for each hole to angle them for my liking.

Thanks for the links. If I get some money in time, those baby's are mine!

You also need the proper relay and new mirror switch. Remember, the mirrors are NOT plug and play and you also lose your heated-glass function.

New pics from Shimming, only the passenger side for now. Im going to try reshimming the inside on the mirror instead of the outside. The goal is to get the mirror further from the car.

Before:

After:
p1392002_1.jpg

Comparing to the stock mirror you can see there is a difference. However i do have the mirror in the same general area. SO far its something i can live with but of course i want to try and make it better.

but im making progress. Oh and you put the washers here. I put washers on the right side to raise it up so it would point more towards the car however im going to try putting them on the left as the goal to correct the angle is to move the mirror outward from the car and not inward.

Ok i know its been a while but i just wanted to update. I have since given up on trying to make the RHD mirrors work for me, some people got used to them i was one of the few that just couldnt. I ended up getting a LHD Set. Here are comparison pictures and in my opinion much much better.

I just put on my 2nd set of euros on my 92, and it's COMPLETELY different from my 89's Euro mirrors..

I figured I got a RHD set on my 89, but once I installed my other set, I cannot see my car at all from my passenger side mirror, the way a normal mirror would, yet the 89's mirrors reflect nothing like a USDM set (bought mine from Germany, a LHD country)...

I bought a cheapie autozone blindspot mirror and stuck it on for now, but I was wondering if you had the part number for a LHD euro passenger side mirror...
