Oh man. I was just reading an Import Tuner today with a full tube chassis RX-7 that was totally carbon fiber. it weighed in around 1900lbs. but the class he races in has a 2600lbs. minimum so he has to weigh it down haha.
I'm trying to get my friends dad to start making lightweight panels out of aluminium. Things like the bonnet and front wings would save a crapload of weight. Also, the boot lid, with acrylic instead of glass.
I've been following that thread for a few months now. Its been a while since Paul (the builder) posted anything of worth.
