So I'm going from a 86.5 7M-GE & W58 in a 86.5 body. Theres a 90 7M-GTE and R154 going into it. I've read I need the motor mounts that go with the post 89 engine but the mounts on my frame don't need any changing correct?

Also I think I read theres a different tranny crossmember and mounts too. Is there a different one for the automatic tranny as well(Or can I use the auto tranny crossmember)? And what about master/slave cylinders and lines for them, is there a difference?

I guess my real question is what all will I need to do the swap(Mounts and lines)? I'm building my car from VERY far away so I don't have the luxury of going to the garage to look at it:( Trying to get a head start. Thanks.

I believe you can swap the whole bracket & mount off the pre-89 block onto the post-89 and get away with it. Otherwise you'd need to change your subframe or something eccentric.

The only other question I have insight on is the slave cyl, I know there's a diff between the w58 and r154 slave's for sure.

Good luck,
-Mike

You can remove the 86 mounts and put them on the 90 block and problem solved...

As far as slave goes...yes slaves are different but masters are the same for the most part (different looking and mounting) but same internal displacement+stroke so all you'll need is the driftmotion clutch hose.

Does the 86 have abs? I'm sure the 90 does so your trans will have the trac control sensor+harness so you'll either have to tuck and tie the wires up so they don't drag or plug it in...trans mounts will be the same between the two so no worries there..

The cross members are all the same or atleast all work but the trans mount (bolts to the cross member) will be different between auto and 5spd...I don't think you'll have a problem...if you do and need those parts I have an extra r154 mount and cross member.
