Hello I was driving my supra yesterday and it started making this noise and i was wondering if anyone might know what it is. it sounds like it is coming from the exhaust side of the head. maybe valvetrain? I dont know. Sorry for the jumping around i was mainly trying to get the sound. Thanks Josh

That doesnt sound like rod knock to me, sounds too fast. really sounds more like lifter noise. But if thats all of a sudden new, that would be odd.

exhaust leak - check gasket. possible that an exhaust manifold stud is stripped

Well here is the deal, i have had a headgasket that has been on its way to blow out for a bit but, i think i do have an exhaust leak cause there is radiator fluid coming out of the turbo elbow. but i am in the process of taking the head off and taking it to a machine shop to get the head re-surfaced and the valve clearances checked and the head and valve train inspected. But it started out really loud and i figured it was rod knock, but i let it cool down for about an hour and started it back up and it sounded like valve ticking. I did notice the oil was a little low so i added some and the sound got quieter. but its going to the machine shop to figure out what the problem is. Thanks for all the help.

Yeah so i figured out what the noise was. It was unbelieveable to find out but it still sucks. the spark plug on the number six cylinder had blown the insides of the spark plug to pieces. And the little chunks of spark plug(ceremics) dented the shit out of my piston and cylinder head. But all of it went out of the exhaust. So i called Bosch and they said i have to mail them the spark plug and a few other things and they are going to assess the issue and hopefully pay for the damages.

Yes i know i should have used other ones but in this case they are hopefully supposed to pay for a rebuild:) but yes they were bosch platinums. single prong. oh and they dont have o'reilly's here in VA. but im gonna look for a place that does have them or just order from the internet.
