Did Toyota make the little black enclosure thing that protects the engine harness as it goes across the valve covers? Has anyone made an after market piece? Mine is going to shit. If i knew what this exact piece was called searching wouldve been easier :biglaugh:

Anyone do anything creative with theirs?

Thanks

This only comes with a "new" enging harness. It is not listed as a seperate part. I had to replace mine with 1/2" plastic wire wrap like used on the rest of the harness, it fit snugly across the timming cover in the same place.

my 87 has it also

As did mine, but it was falling apart so I took it out. I have seen a bazillion pics w/ that piece missing, so I figured it wasnt critical.

I think the PO has the same ? I do- Is it critical?

I have one that's in amazing shape. I had to take it off when I routed my harness with my FFIM.

shoot me a PM if you'd like to buy it.

If I had a little bit more manufacturing know-how, I'd be on this like a horny college guy on drunk cheerleaders...

A basic square pipe with heat insulating wrap and a few bracket pieces added would do the trick. Or better yet, a piece dipped in some sort of heat insulation (not sure if that exists) would be sweet.

...Or you could just buy a $0.50 piece of plastic wire loom...

maybe if you got enough interest gathered for this part and money up front from each person, ARZ may consider designing a blinging piece for you...

Hmm i wonder how many people would actually want one

I made from black A.B.S plastic face plate that stereo shops use when they in install stereo's in cars that need to fill extra space or fill in gaps. My fits better when I have my coil cover installed it nice and tight ,it looks factory. here's a picture: (if I can load it up) The edges are actually pretty smooth, it just looks weird because my coil covers not on it.
