Do not get the coil packs wet!
The valley on the 1JZ haves a drain on the back of the engine through ball bearing looking little ports I found this out when cleaning my engine out of the car.
If the coils get the least bit wet/moist dont be suprised if it wont run until fully dried out ask me how I know.

The rest is safe you might want to avoid the ignitor module also but light spraying is ok.

agree ont he toothbrush or use a very soft brissle wire brush and not only simple green but simple green MAX :biglaugh: buy it by hte gallon and than get a spray bottle and oh yea A LOT OF RAGS
