One of my friends started doing powdercoating recently and in an attempt to spice things up a bit before the TX meet, I decided to do a revamp of the engine bay. I am so impressed with powdercoating at this point, everything just wipes clean with a rag. No more hours cleaning everything and a ton of chemicals. RBchroming.com if you're interested, I'm wanting to powdercoat every metal piece in the car now!

Yes all the blue parts are actually done in chrome PC first then the blue is a transparent layer. We were experimenting with it on the BOV and you can lay down just a light layer and it comes out pretty nice actually.

Looks very sharp! My covers are painted red and are chipped/stained/etc, going to PC them as soon as I get time.

btw, what size turbo is that?

If I was the jealous type..

Seriously a vast improvement. I hear you on the cleanup. Polished takes forever. Are you doing anything with the ps resevoir? How bout a turbo blanket? other than that looking good.

Haha we think alike. Both are on my "next" list. Black turbo blanket, black or blue PS reservoir, engine hooks in black, IC pipes black. No more exposed metal is the goal :)

do you have to cook it between each coat or lay the chrome, then blue, then cure?

I do like the black contrast on my 2j car. I'm going with a gunmetal on the 92.

I'm glad you're pleased Jon, much improved over the stained/bead blast look :)

I can't wait to unveil the Mt. Dew color scheme in all its glory.
