Emp's Dyno Tune Session...

ok i dun know if it belongs here cause its not really a showoff video or watever.
Anyway, the problem we were having was that the damn wastegate wasnt opening...reason being the spring was way too much for my turbo. So that made the boost spike and boost was uncontrollable* Unfortunately we really couldnt tune it much. The turbo took a bit to spool up also. Final UNTUNED verdict was 357.23rwhp and 381.28trq. @ 5000rpm
Well after that, my friend happened to have a 10psi wastegate spring that seemed to work, so now im using that and it seems to be working. Bad news is that the dyno closed after i got the spring.

When the wastegate situation is solved...which it pretty much is, could've hit 400 today but wen i got the spring it was too late.

i was using the spring that came with Driftmotion's HKS 40mm Replica W/G, so im not too sure, i just PMed aaron to ask. The guys at the dyno thought it was 2bar, and wen i took it out it was pretty damn stiff...after i replaced it with the 10psi one it seemed fine...it opened right at 9.75psi everytime, i'll turn it up 2moro.

dude... why not come up to the dyno place that ryan is having and dyno it for $40... its tuned pretty good, just gotta watch the A/F after 5,000rpm. Come on man... you could hit 400 tomarow!!!!!!

plus it would be good to do a couple of runs with the spring that is in it to be sure that it will hold and your not going to waste a nother dyno session.

dude... why not come up to the dyno place that ryan is having and dyno it for $40... its tuned pretty good, just gotta watch the A/F after 5,000rpm. Come on man... you could hit 400 tomarow!!!!!!

I have a 10psi spring I can send you for free to replace the one you swapped in. I'll have to take a look at the spring it comes with on one I have at the shop, it's supposed to be 10psi but maybe they made a change on us. If you changed the spring and the boost dropped, then the vacuum fittings are probably plumbed ok. HP looks good though, with some tuning you should be 400whp+.

with the sc61 my car did 360rw at 10.5psi untuned, so that sounds pretty close to what you did.

i had a 1bar spring in my gate and didnt have any issues running right off the gate fwiw.
