You're still running NA right? If so first thing I'd check is the O2 sensor. My stepson's NA runs rich as fuck, because the O2 wire's busted.

Well I have to spend atleast $150 in order to get a waiver for emissions so I picked up a rotor, cap, wires, ngk 5689 plugs, bosch o2 sensor!

Do yall gap iridium plugs?

I've never failed an emissions test EVER so this has me confused! Yes it's my na but it's not throwing codes so I figured an o2 would throw a code...either way I already got a new one just for shits and giggles.

I don't want to just spend money for nothing though...I want it to pass!

=P you could always try those gas additives that "guarantee pass or your money back" ...still not sure why they sell that here in michigan, we dont have emissions

That's where I would start with high HC. Do you have any engine codes?
Another consideration is the CAT.

I have a speed sensor code as my cable broke again but got the new cable today....had a starter code but it went away and never came back....but that's it....I have another cat I can use that has 75,000 miles on it from a turbo supra....I'm not sure if they drove my car around long enough to get my cat and motor hot though so I did make another appointment for Monday and I'm gonna drive around for an hour.

A lean misfire can also be a cause...check your intake manifold vac lines.

Put a gallon of methanol in a 1/4 tank of gas...that will heat the CAT up ;) I've used this trick with success here in AZ on the dyno emissions.

After you do the test, head straight to the gas station and fill up.

The harm is to the rubber fuel lines, but occurs over a long time of constant use...I would not run methanol on a regular basis. It will not harm the engine, but just might get rid of some carbon build-up.

Speaking of carbon build-up, if you have a needle valve laying around, feed a quart of water in through the brake booster fitting while a helper holds the RPM at 1500 or so. It does an excellent job of cleaning your valves. Take a look at the cylinder that blew in a BHG, ever noticed how clean the piston/valves are?

Too bad I didn't know they don't go bad:-(

any thing you can recomend I do jetjock? I'm kind of skeptical about these tricks and running water in my motor...I know water will clean my motor but I don't think dirty pistons will make me fail emissions

Dirty valves/piston won't...it was more of a side note. Sorry if I got you thinking that.
BTW - been doing this for years annually on all my cars...works very well, especially when compared to all the "engine treatments" on the parts shelf (Seafoam comes to mind).

It's not that I'm scared of doing it...it's that I'm more focused on emissions not on cleaning....now if that water cleans my cat and helps it do it's job then rock on but I don't think that's the case here.

Actually deposits will cause high HC, especially valve deposits, by absorbing fuel, but I'd focus on the ignition system. It's usually (but not always) the culprit behind HC. And O2 sensors do go bad but your's looks to be good. If it wasn't you'd be running rich...
