with the MAFT your still using AFM but its a GM hotwire type and can be used in a blow thru setup to be more efficent and its less restrictive to begin with. The only real ways to get rid if it all together is a PHR MAP ECU, HKS VPC, standalone set to speed density, or a turbo A ecu with wiring harness and sensors.

Err... this may just be semantics, but still...

MAF = Mass Air Flow
AFM = Air Flow Meter

MAF is not equal to AFM.

Is it possible to get a 2.5 inch gm MAF so it is compatable with most regular intercooler pipe kits? Also does the BOV need to be pre-MAF or post-MAF to vent into the atmosphere for a blow thru?

No, the MAFT translator doesn't have a setting for 2.5", only 3" and larger. they sell 2.5 - 3" couplers so you can use a 3" MAF with ease.

There was a list of cars that used the GM MAF - it was freaking HUGE. I got mine for an Impala SS. As long as it uses the 3 wire connector and is 3" or bigger, I think it'll work fine.

You can buy an adapter from Full Throttle for the 5 wire sensors if you want, and it's not very expensive.

Pre Maft, that way the air released has been metered yet.
