There are a lot of nice ones out, but i havnt seen any function first hand. I like the looks and idea behind the Greddy Profec E-01, The AVCR, and i like the accurate boost sensor option of the Turbosmart E-Boost2. Who likes what and why?

(oh, and does the profec e-01 give a boost reading, accurately?)

the e-01 is excellent... it gives an accurate boost reading, which is VERY easy to see.... a member said it was very difficult to set right.... I havn't had a single problem with it :dunno:

I found it extremely easy to use, and boost hits hard and fast... I love it. I'm getting one for the other supra :)

I dont' know what you mean by the accurate boost sensor option on the turbo smart.....

I'm going to have to give another vote for the E-01, just put mine in yesterday. Easy to install, and set up and mmmmm..... the boost feels damn good!

For ease, the HKS EVC V-EZ II is really nice, and simple... Basic though... I had one, and liked it...

I have the HKS EVC-IV now, and its a pain in the ass...

"With high accuracy boost and vacuum display, e-Boost2 outperforms most analogue boost gauges!"

thats just one of its main advertisments, its supposedly very very accurate.

But if you say that the Profec E-01 is accurate and displays boost, i think i'm sold.

yeah... that's probally just marketing man.

I think the e01 is probally one of the best avaliable. I've heard there's an HKS somthing or the other 8 avaliable that is supposedly better but i've seen the price tag of 700 dollars thrown around.....

talk to Jeff @ HPF, he'll take care of ya :)

I'm more than happy with my Blitz SBC-DC. It's very easy to use and has some really nice features on it. I really dig the looks of Blitz electronics, too.

I would recommend not getting the Apex AVC-R. I know two guys with those and they have too many variables to make it an easy-to-use piece.

If I ever find a deal on one of these bad boys, I'll pick one up.

I'll try to find more info, there was an excellent review in Turbo magazine about it.

Up to nine stage programmable boost control.
0-60 psi target boost range for each stage (1 psi increments)
Five different ramp settings to control how fast boost is allowed to build.
Launch stage for drag racing.
Shift input for automatic stage selection for drag racing.
Front panel stage selection by driver for street or dirt use.
Readout of actual boost during boost control.
Two analog data recorder outputs - Actual boost level. Target boost level.
Two solenoid drive outputs - One increase boost output. One decrease boost output.
Can be used with single or dual port waste gate.
Uses electronic pressure sensor in manifold to monitor and control boost.
Will force waste gate to produce preset target boost level even with air density, load, or mechanical variations.

What's so tough about it? I set mine up, and it gives me no problems. If you can read, I can't understand how it would give you a problem.

Ever since the intercooler install, in the nice cool dense air of Florida winter I can push 13psi without hitting fuel cut - and that 13psi comes pretty damn fast.

I have an avc-r and I would definitely recommend it. As of yet I haven't actually tried it with my new T-67, but I did use it for a week or so before I swapped turbo's. Really customizable and easy to read screen. I am crazy about the peak hold function which lets me avoid the whole staring at a screen while I accelerate at an ungodly rate. It's pretty easy to set once you get the hang of it, but I still haven't explored the very depths of it. One thing I can't wait to try out when my new turbo goes in is the gear specific boost control. Basically, if I understand it right, the avc-r learns from each pull you make then adjusts the boost to a different level for each gear in order to maximize efficency. All that and it fits in the slot where my ash tray used to be.

i like the avcr also. there is a ton of settings and stuff that can be pretty confusing, but its all options to perform better if you want you can just leave that stuff alone, and set the boost and duty like any other controller and be on your way.
