I've still been investigating my voltage dropping problems while driving and idling and i did discover something recently but unsure as to what to do about it.

I have 2 x (inaccurate) prosport gauges lol hooked into ignition from the fusepanel inside
ZT2 hooked to hks tp harness
2 x autogauge gauges hooked to hks tp harness
Turbo timer connected directly to ignition harness

Sometimes when i first turn on my ignition the wideband backlight will light but i won't get any text on the screen.
Turn off key/turbo timer, turn on ign and text will appear on zt2 screen

Sometimes i will turn on my hazards and instead of the blinkers... blinking on the dash my full beam light will flick on and off instead (actual blinkers do go tho)

I have noticed very recently my walbro has started whining, i'm assuming the voltage loss as fuel didn't make a difference.

While driving my turbo timer voltmeter will tell me i have 14-14.2v
Idle i have seen it drop to 12.5 usually but saw it drop to 11.xx today

The autogauge gauges connected to the hks tp harness also have voltmeters.

At the very same time i have 14.2 at the turbo timer, the autogauge gauges were displaying 13.4

I have verified wiring and it is supreme from battery to chassis etc. I have not as yet tested voltage at the battery to compare to "batt" on the ecu. I do not have any engine stumbling problems as usually suffered from code 11.

Codes if any will be displayed imminently....... no codes :)

What does this suggest? Have i put too much load on a circuit?
How can i rectify it?

Thanks :)

well

what "circuit" did you attach all those doodads to? :)

that is not enough amerpage between all of them to cause a significant load increase for the alt. Have you checked your main fuse box in the engine bay. And specifically the ground wire going to it?

the two autogauge ones are connected to ign and "batt" at the ecu, apparently the gauges get it's readings from the permanent b+ wire so that's why i mentioned batt earlier.

I will go through my car today and check that all the stock grounds to chassis are indeed still bolted and add a batt neg to the rear most chassis ground also

I'll post things as i find them :)

car not running just ign is on
Checked the turbo timer b+ and ign wires
ign 11.56v
b+ 11.42v

Turbo timer ign = 11.56v
Ign at autogauge gauges from ecu ign 11.55v

Ign is at off position
Turbo timer b+ permanent 12.15v
gauges b+ permanent 12.16v

Ign at ecu with ign on 11.55v
Cranking 8.xxv
Running 13.7v

Turbo timer direct at ign harness 14.2
