Thanks for the Reply. My answer would be yes to both, I never really had a reason to remove them... Should I? And my A/C is currently broken so I guess its not that important for now. Can you please explain why this makes a difference? Thanks again for the reply, and any help you can provide.

Cheers,
Chris.
Oops, didn't see this.

The SPAL temp sensor will thread in (some coaxing required) to any of the 3 holes on the front of the thermostat housing. IIRC, two are used for A/C, one for the charcoal canister vac. This is why I asked.

CPT - seems like a pretty big hole to just be drilling into something...

What is the size thread you need? My Autometer gauge was only 1/8 NPT. The blank is fairly large and if you remove the thermostat housing first you can see exactly where you will be drilling. There are also thread reducers you could use, but it might keep the sensor farther away from the coolant. I also prefer to mount the sensor behind the thermostat versus in front of it.

I might go try that later on my spare motor just to see if you can do it...do you have a pic of the sender? If it's not too long it might work.

Yep...got bored. Check it:

You can see how the factory sender for the aux fan kick-on fits nice and snug in there. It extends just enough to not interfere with the thermostat, but it's close. Any pics of the Spal sender??? Not that hard to do, either. Only took about five minutes!

That looks like it would mount really sweet in the hole I just made! That whole statement sounds kinda dirty...:)
